Why sail with us? Our Mission
The mission of the Foundation is to encourage all children and adults to experience:
- The joy of recreational and/or competitive sailing.
- The essential elements of performance boat handling, seamanship and racing.
These goals are achieved by encouraging our sailors to learn the value of life-long lessons that promote self-awareness and the understanding and appreciation of others, realized through:
- Ethical behavior
- Teamwork
- Respect for self and others
- Respect for the marine environment
- Cooperative learning
- Good sportsmanship

The Foundation’s programs and policies seek to support both serious competitors and recreational sailors at all skill levels in local waters and beyond. But above all, these programs and policies are designed to:
- Create sailors who will enjoy and contribute to the sport of sailing for their entire lives.
- Develop competence, confidence and character in our sailors in a fun and safe enviroment.
